Introduction
This section highlights how my goals, identity, and professional direction have developed throughout my college experience. By comparing my original H200 intention statements with my current statements, I can demonstrate how my experiences in academics, research, service, and professional settings have shaped who I am today and who I am becoming as I prepare to graduate.
H200 "I Am" Statement
I am a hardworking, responsible, and goal-oriented member in the Honors College at IUPUI. But I also strive to collaborate and communicate with other members of our community. To use these values and qualities throughout my journey at IUPUI I will be able to grow as an individual and to help my community grow too.

H200 "I Want To Become" Statement
I want to strive to become more engaged in my community, both my academic community and the Indianapolis community as a whole. I want to graduate successfully while still playing the sport I love while in undergrad. After undergrad, I want to go to graduate school to get a master’s in forensic psychology. Then, I want to become a forensic psychologist where I can help apply psychological theory to criminal investigations and help treat those who have committed offenses. I want to help people who are struggling mentally realize that there is hope and somehow become a part of that hope for them even if the legal system is involved.
I want to become a more compassionate person while pursuing a loving and authentic life. I hope to become a respectful, balanced, and loyal member of society where people treat me the same. I want to become someone who continues to discipline themselves and persevere through all challenges that come their way. I want to become a role model for people so that they come to me for advice whenever they need help with something.
I want to become more motivated, positive, and joyful during my time at IUPUI and beyond. I want to grow more as an individual by becoming more organized, sharing my story to help others, and taking advantage of more opportunities while I can. I want to become more welcoming and speak out more so that I can connect to others more. Finally, I want to be proud of the things I have accomplished and the memories I have made.

H200 Reflection
When I wrote my H200 statements, I was a recent high school graduate and first-year college student who was excited but still exploring what psychology would look like in practice. I knew I wanted to help people and was interested in forensic psychology, but I had not yet gained hands-on experience in mental health, prevention work, or justice-related settings. At that time, many of my goals were focused on personal growth, involvement, and adjusting to college while balancing athletics, academics, and grief. I was motivated and community-oriented, but I was still learning how my interests could translate into a professional path.

Updated "I Am" Statement
I am an honors college psychology major at IU Indianapolis with a 3.94 GPA, which I intend to graduate with. I am a research-informed, community-focused individual committed to advancing mental health, prevention, and justice through collaboration, advocacy, and evidence-based practice. Through my leadership, service, and real-world experience in internships, I have grown into someone dedicated to supporting vulnerable populations and creating meaningful, lasting change.

"I Want to Become" Statement
I want to become a forensic social worker who uses research, prevention, and trauma-informed care to support individuals impacted by the justice system and substance use. I hope to continue growing as a compassionate, resilient professional who advocates for accessible mental health care and serves as a source of hope and support for others.

Reflection: Past Self vs Current Self
Looking back, my freshman-year statements focused on who I hoped to become, while my current statements reflect who I am actively becoming through experience. Since H200, I have worked in peer prevention education through CAPS, supported teens in a trauma-informed support group setting for Ambassadors of Hope, interned with the Marion County Juvenile Probation Department and Beacon of Hope Crisis Center, studied post-war trauma and social work in Croatia, and worked in a campus environment serving diverse populations. These experiences helped me move from general goals of helping others to a clearly defined professional direction in forensic and addiction psychology.

As I prepare to graduate, I feel more confident in my ability to combine research, advocacy, and direct service. I have grown from someone hoping to contribute to my community into someone who is actively leading, educating, and supporting others through evidence-based and compassionate work. My future goals remain rooted in helping people find hope and support, but now they are supported by real-world experience, professional skills, and a clearer understanding of the populations I hope to serve.
